I'm Back...and Sharing some Spring Beauty

Well hello  all!!
I've been MIA since before Christmas.
I wasn't planning to,
Life got busy...
All is well though,
and I have missed posting and sharing.
I figure since my last post was sharing my Christmas vignette on this table,
I would share a Spring one.

We haven't planted any bulbs in our front gardens,
but you know,
they keep coming back every year.

The Hyacinth.
They have such a beautiful aroma!
I'm really enjoying the beauty of Spring.
Everything coming alive
The singing of the birds
The warmth of the sun...
It's all reflects God's glory.

I put them in a pewter cream and sugar container,
and set them on a crocheted doily
in a vintage wooden tray,
and set it on my opened Vintage Bible.
All were thrifty finds.

I love the old tarnished look of them,
and the claw feet that they have.
Such character!

I searched for a scripture that would be appropriate.
I found one in,
you guessed it...
Song of Solomon.

Song of Solomon 2:12

The glory of the flower is the beauty and fragrance of it.
It is what God created it to be.
God put in you, that thing, that will radiate the glory of God to others.
Don't compare yourself to the one beside you.
They have their glory to radiate and you have yours...unique to you.

May your Spring season be a time of singing and rejoicing for you.

Feel free to use this printable.

It's good to be back.
Have a wonderful day!!

Blessings to you,

Sunday Ponderings

I've been thinking of the precious lives lost this past week
as they stood in their classroom
with a gun pointed in their face.

Have you ever mentally put yourself in their shoes?
Does your heart start beating faster.
This is not what they were planning as they got out of their beds
that morning to start their day.

We all have numbered days.
A lot of people don't live like they do.
I know I don't always.

Oh I know I'm going to heaven and live forever with the saints
who have gone before me,
and with my Heavenly Father and Saviour,
but I too get caught up with things here on earth.
I don't mean that we can't have fun,
but there are things that I know to do
but procrastinate about.

Numbering our days is something we have to learn to do.
It's not a morbid thing in the sense that we are always thinking about dying,
but rather living our life
for the glory of God.
By sharing the beauty of Jesus inside of us
wherever we are
and
whomever we are with.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of these precious people.

How will you live today?

Blessings to you,

A rainbow...just for me!

There is just something about a rainbow.
Actually there are many things when you think about it.

The colours...always in the same order (Isaac Newton)

Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Indigo
Violet

When there is a double rainbow, the colours are reversed (thanks Wikipedia!)

The perfect shape of an arc.

The amazing story of Noah's Ark always comes to mind.

The rainbow was God's promise that He would never destroy the earth with a flood again.

Whenever it rains and the light of the sun is nearby, I always run out to find a rainbow.
It's been a long time since I've seen a complete arc.
On Wednesday evening I had a client to visit. When I left and walked out the front door there was a perfect, beautiful, arc of a rainbow right in front of me.
As I was admiring it, God said to me "Just for you".
Wasn't that sweet?
I've been asking to see one for a long time.
A beautiful rainbow for me to see, and everyone else was blessed to see it too!
These pictures were taken with my phone.
When I got home I grabbed my camera because there was still a piece of the rainbow to be seen.
But it couldn't be seen from my back yard.
So I took these pictures of the sky...just as amazing!

In Roman 1:20 it says,
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God...

While I admire and appreciate God's wonderful creation, I do not worship it, but I worship the One who created it.

Isaiah 45:18
For this is what the LORD says-- he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited-- he says: "I am the LORD, and there is no other.
God created the earth and the fullness thereof for our sustenance and our enjoyment.

Do you ever feel like God had something special just for you to see?

God cares.

Blessings,

My Word for 2014

I have never liked making New Years Resolutions.
They never worked and the only thing that resulted from them was guilt.
Yuck!!
I deal with that ugly word enough on my own without having to create more of it for myself.

Lately I have been reading about having a "word" for the year ahead rather than making a resolution.
That makes so much sense to me.

So I prayed about a word.
Now if there is one word that I would describe myself and friends who know me is that I am steady.
I am not easily swayed by things that blow in the wind.
But as I was thinking about being steadfast, I have areas in my life that are steady, but there are other areas that require more steadfastness.
Areas that shouldn't be easily shaken but are a little shaky at the moment.
It's always nice when you get confirmation about what you feel God is telling you.
I receive notifications from The Elijah List.
Today there was a message from Jennifer LeClaire about "the righteous will never be shaken". You can read the message here.
Talk about confirmation. It always makes my heart smile.

We all have areas in our lives that need to tweaked here and there.
Change comes one tweak at a time.
But when it does, you become like Psalm 112:7-8

Sometimes, when we keep things simple for ourselves change will automatically happen for us.

What's your word for 2014?

The above pictures are from the ice storm taken on Dec 26 in Southern Ontario.

Blessings, Diane
