New Season, New Reason!

Today begins a new season.
I do prefer the warmth of the sun, summer evening walks, flip-flops, and ice cream cones.
But, we can't stop time.
So the best thing to do is to embrace the beauty of each season.
While I don't like the cooler weather, I do enjoy the coziness of being inside, curling up with a good book, baking, and seeing the glow of lit candles.
Seasons are part of God's creation.
Each season is special and unique for the season that is coming next.
That's how it is in our journey here on earth. We all go through seasons in our life.
Some we prefer more than others, but each season we go through, prepares us for the next season in our life.
The passage in Ecclesiastes 3 is the most famous for this.

To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born,
    And a time to die;
A time to plant,
    And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
    And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
    And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
    And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
    And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
    And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
    And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
    And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
    And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
    And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
    And a time to speak;
A time to love,
    And a time to hate;
A time of war,
    And a time of peace.

Enjoy the Fall season and be thankful for the season of life that you are walking in today. There is a reason for it!

"I Will Fear No Evil"

 September 11, 2001

I will always remember this day.
 I just saw my five year old boy off to school.
I was getting myself ready for the day and had Good Morning America on in the other room.
 When I returned to look at the television, the picture I saw was unbelievable.
 A large fireball billowing from one of the twin towers.
At that time they weren't sure what was happening.
Then a second plane hit the second tower. Now it was a lot suspicious.
 But when the first tower started coming down I couldn't contain myself.
 I was crying and shrieking and all I could say was "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus".
My heart was broken for all those people who were losing their lives at that moment.
 I couldn't tear myself away from the television for a long time.
I remember a time when one of the news shows had a lot of women who were pregnant and had lost their husbands on that day.
They are almost 12 years old now.
I wonder how they are.

Evil seemed to reign that day, but so many stories came to the surface later on of how people were protected or how God moved in miraculous ways.
I am so comforted to know that the Lord is my Shepherd.
Whatever we may face in life, He is with us, always.

Candle Love

I LOVE candles!!
 A few weeks ago, we had a girls weekend away and we spent Sunday afternoon in one of my favourite towns, Elora. http://elora.info/
 I lived a few minutes up the road and went to grade school here, but I never tire of walking up and down the streets, visiting the quaint shops and taking in the beautiful scenery. In one of the shops, called Epiphany, I saw this candle and fell in love with it. So unique! Maybe the measuring tape had something to do with it! Of course I couldn't resist! It smells so nice too!!

There is something about a lit candle that adds warmth and coziness to the atmosphere. Good friends do the same thing. Here is a picture of us all together.
